Accessibility Policy
The Council is committed to providing
its online services to all sections of the public,
in line with the current Disability Discrimination
Act.
One of our key objectives in designing
this site has been to make easily accessible to as
many as possible of the people in our area.
In particular, we have tried to design the core parts
of the site in such a way that: users who find it
hard to read the standard screen display can easily
alter colours and text sizes to a combination that
suits them.
We hope the site is straightforward
to navigate using a text-only browser or a speech
browser navigation using a keyboard rather than a
mouse. Because we are aiming to make as many as possible
of the documents published by the Council available
through this site, we cannot check in detail whether
all site contents are fully accessible. Also, we can
only be certain that the core site design meets all
access needs when we have had feedback from a wide
range of users.
We would therefore be especially
interested to hear from site users who have special
access needs about their experience of using the site.
