Research into care of older people in hospital (2002)

Dear Patient,

The Eastern Health and Social Services Council is an independent organisation which has been set up to represent your interests in health and social services. We are carrying out research to find out if there are any improvements that can be made in the care that older people receive in hospital.

A Researcher from the Eastern Health and Social Services Council would like to visit you at home, when you have been discharged, and ask you some questions about the care that you received while you were in hospital.

We would appreciate it if you could help us with this research. The Researcher (Geraldine Boyle) will ask you for about an hour of your time. The answers you give will be confidential and your name and address will not be recorded. Your answers will not affect, in any way, the care that you receive from the staff in this hospital or any help that you might get at home.

You do not have to take part in this study if you do not want to. However, your time and help would be much appreciated.

Thank you
