Palliative Care Services

During 2003, the EHSSC is carrying out research into palliative care given to patients in the EHSS Board area.

Palliative care, or supportive care, is the total care of patients and families - physical, mental and spiritual (or mind, body and spirit) - where the patient has a serious illness which can cause distressing symptoms. Patients can receive palliative care at home or in a hospital, hospice or nursing home.

If you are a patient receiving palliative care or a relative of a patient and would like to make a comment or suggestion about palliative care services in the EHSS Board area, the EHSSC would like to hear from you. Please visit our Have Your Say page, or contact us by email or telephone.
